Ladies Hideout Golf Club League
The name of the League shall be ‘The Ladies Hideout Golf Club League’.
The object of the ‘The Ladies Hideout Golf Club League’, a nonprofit organization, shall be to promote good fellowship and citizenship, teach an understanding of golf and its associated rules, kindle an interest in golf and to enable its members to enjoy organized competition and social activities.
Section 1: All league members must have an orientation with either the President or Vice-President before membership is accepted. No player may play on the Women’s Tees until the orientation is complete and approved by the above.
Section 2. ‘The Ladies Hideout Golf Club League’ offers equal access to all applicants who qualify. Qualifying members must be at least 18 years or accompanied by a parent or other adult. Membership also includes of at least a 50% participation level. Monthly fees of $5.00 a month shall be paid by the first of each month to the leagues treasurer. Fees will cover any supplies, awards or other necessities for the interest of the league or as voted on as a board.
Members will stay in Good Standing
Section 1. Good Standing Members will be on time and if not possible, will notify the appropriate contact. Being late for a Tee time will forfeit play.
Section 2: Good Standing Members will dress and act appropriately. Dress standards include sleeved shirts, no short shorts or skirts and no offensive logos on shirts or as otherwise suggested by the golf board. Shoes include golf shoes or tennis shoes. No heals or boots. No fowl language or loud laughter while playing on the course. We are trying to maintain an image of professionalism and courtesy.
Members Courtesy and Etiquette
Section 1: Good golf etiquette includes ‘keeping the play moving’. All patrons of the golf course will take no longer than 3 -5 minutes total play time to look for a lost ball. If play is slow it we will let the group behind play through. After a score of 10 is reached, the ball will be picked up and the player will move on. Two hours is the maximum amount of time for either nine holes or the ladies 3 hole range. A player may only play one time on flight day.
Section 2: While the ball is in play avoid actions such as talking, moving the golf cart, sudden movements and shadowing the player, as it is a distraction and prohibited.
Section 3: The greens and fare ways will be respected. Only putters shall be used on the greens and all ball marks and divots will be fixed when possible.
Section 4: If the golf cart paths are wet or muddy, we will not drive on them spreading mud on the golf course and making excessive mud on the carts.
Section 5. Members participating in competition who need to cancel must notify the Tee-Time Chair or other board member at least 24 hours in advance. Members having two “no shows” (i.e. not notifying of an intended absence on a play day) will be notified by the President that their memberships will be terminated after one more “no-show”. Notification of termination will be made by letter from the secretary.
Section 1. The officers of ‘The Ladies Hide Out Golf Club League’ are elected by vote. These officers shall be:
President – President shall make all final decisions on terminations or other important items. President shall lead all board meetings, teach golf, orient, enforce rules and golf etiquette. President shall be an advocate for the Women’s League. The president shall work with other board members planning and delegating. She shall communicate with all board members and league members by either phone, text or email, etc.
Vice-President: The Vice-President shall assist the president. She shall communicate with the President and is in charge of the Ladie’s Hideout Golf League Website. She shall instruct, orient and teach golf during sessions and enforce rules and golf etiquette. In case of absence of the President, the Vice President will run meetings and take on President’s duties. She shall communicate with Hideout Golf Course Staff to arrange members golf sessions.
Board Member: The Board Member will be in charge of arranging and scheduling all flights. All members will either call her or sign up themselves on the board at the pro shop. The board member will go over the schedule and make sure that all flights are not over booked or that there is not a sole player. If this is the case she will help to match the player up with someone. If she is not able to go into the golf shop to put them on the board then she will call the President and give her the information. The board member may also take any other task that she is able to do if needed. She will also assist members while playing in following the rules and teaching.
Secretary: The Secretary will take minutes during all meetings and communicate with board members. She will email the notes to the Vice President and keep roll information current on players. She will also help instruct and lead member sessions and enforce the rules.
Treasurer: The Treasurer will handle all money and keep the books and logs. She will pay bills when given an invoice. When a board member needs money she will keep a record of it and obtain the receipts to reconcile the account. She will also instruct, lead member sessions and help to enforce the rules.
Junior Board Member: The Junior Board Member will be the birthday chair. She will track birthdays and alert the board each month before the potluck of which members birthday it is. She will make a cake for them out of the funds provided and keep and turn in her receipts. She will also obtain input from other youth members or prospective members and give input. She will work with the board on other assignments if given. She will be a role model for other golfers. She will attend meetings with the board if possible.
Elections shall be in the spring of each year at the first meeting. Nominations will be accepted in addition to volunteer submissions.
Section 1. Meetings of the ‘The Ladies Hide Out Golf Club League’ will be on the first week of each month during the potluck. Membership dues will also be collected on the first week of the month at the same meeting.
Section 2: Golf Board Meetings will be as determined by the board.
Amendment of the Bylaws
Section 1: These By-Laws may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the membership at any regular or special meeting and provided to the members of the league as posted on the website.
