Meeting, Thursday- April 27, 2017 7:00 p.m.
Presentation by Brenda Sturdevant (Drinks and snacks were provided)
Introduction of all members present. Discussion of cost and
dues. $5 a class and $1.00 weekly dues. We will be learning
beginning basics of golf. For additional golf lessons, all members
can contact Tyler in the Pro shop. There is a free junior course
for members to practice. The superintendent will put in some new
women’s golf t-s on the holes that have creeks or bushes
which will make it difficult for beginners.
Discussion of clothing and
equipment needed. Buy cheap golf balls as a lot of balls are lost
by beginners. Need a putter, driver and middle iron (#7 was
recommended). Glove is optional. Clothing should be tasteful. No
midriff shirts or short shorts. Athletic or golf shoes should be
worn. *Don’t spend a lot of time looking for lost golf balls.
Prizes were given to plates
that had blue or green dots. Also a prize was given with a card
placed in a slot underneath (1) specific chair. All attendees
received a cute cardboard golf cart with golf ball and tees inside,
pamphlet and score card.
A board was selected by all
members in attendance.
